creative rut...

So, I've been in a creative rut all weekend! I sit down ready to scrap but can't.
I think I need new photos and new materials to work with.
CHA is coming soon. love that hate that...but that's a whole other can of worms.

so yeah.
a creative rut is no fun.

But anyways, I was looking through some old photos today and found some random stuff.

okay, so i am by no means a drawer. i just don't have the eye for it. or the 3-d perception either. though i lack these said "drawing skills" i did manage to pull off this for an ap lit extra credit assignment:



honestly, the coloring really made this rose pop! coloring, i can do very willingly. drawing, well not so much. its just the way i roll (:

DOODLING on the other hand...now that just makes me happy!
ILOVEIT.
it got me through high school! and all my boring classes.
no kidding. i have friends who can vouch for me (:
I never came to school without colored pens, pencils, or markers. my pencil case probably weighed 5lbs. lol.



I often doodled my friends names and wrote them notes to go with. I usually gave them the note afterwards so I don't have many anymore but have hoarded a few to myself because...well, I just couldn't give it away! lol.

Maybe I should go back to my creative roots and see if that gets me out of this rut.

Music is one of those things that reminds me of certain times and people! I love hearing an old song and remembering rocking out to the tune with a good friend. Instead of using a photo I printed out album covers of some songs that really have a story behind them and arranged them together! I love music! Great challenge AC!

really. it is. I used cream cheese frosting and candy melts for the message!

Wow! With a minute to spare! I just submitted my application for the American Crafts Design Team Call! If I had to chose any manufacturer design team I would want to design for it would be American Crafts without a doubt. Their style and colorful trend is so me and I love their quality of product! Ah, I want this so badly. Going to cross my fingers for sure!

Anyways...

First up are some business cards I designed! I've wanted to do this for a long time and finally have. Don't know if they'll give me a whole bunch of business but having my name out there is nice! The first one I designed like my blog banner and the second is more class-y, professional looking. Don't know which one I like more...what do you think?




Card I made for fun!


Gosh, these seem ancient to me. I made them forever ago and finally got around to getting some decent (ugh, stupid glare) of them. Recycling is always good for the earth so I reused the packaging from random scrap supplies and dressed them up a bit! Then I filled them will candy. Yum!

Heartache...

A good friend had a wee bit of heartache this week.

Mouth-watering huh? lol.
I could not decide if I liked the chocolate dipped with chocolate sprinkles or the chocolate dipped with colorful sprinkles better...hmm.

Gift Bags!

Ever since I was little I LOVED wrapping presents.

Though my adoration for some sparkly wrapping paper, clear tape, sharp scissors, and of course curling ribbon still overwhelms me, sometimes a gift bag will have to suffice because I am running just a little late.

But that doesn't mean I can't dress it up right?

This was an envelope for an additional gift card (so he could eat more yummy food)!

I made this as a gift for my soccer coach this season! He loves to cook so I asked the girls on the team to give me some of their favorite recipes to incorporate! I ended up only receiving about 10-12 recipes but the book was still nice and full (:

I made the photos 4x6 so assembly of the recipe book would be easy. Also, the recipes' were printed on 3x5 index cards for more "easy-ness". Teresa Collin's recipe paper line worked well with this book too (:

Ah, now I think I am hungry again! lol.
